St Francis Field is a low density residential development incorporating a private airfield, situated on the
Eastern Cape Coast, 110 kms west of Port Elizabeth. The Estate has 52 residential stands each being
approximately 0.8 Ha, surrounded by 160 Ha of common property, owned by the Homeowners'
Association. This includes 54 Ha of Nature Reserve and a 1200m private airstrip. Taxiways service most
residential stands allowing those residents who wish to do so to build hangars on their properties. There
are four transport erfs adjoining the airstrip for aircraft hangarage and other airfield related activities.
The beach at Cape St Francis is within walking distance and stands have panoramic beach views and
views of the Winterhoek Mountains. The centre of St Francis Bay is a mere 2kms away and Port St
Francis is 800m from the entrance gate.
All houses have to be of "Eastern Cape Farmhouse" style and to maintain a high standard of
development a detailed list of building rules and a controlling architect are in place .The development is
the brainchild of Ian and Jean Fynn who began planning the estate in 1993 and started selling stands in
1998.
